SACI pool pumps and spare parts

SACI builds circulation pumps for swimming pools, from a compact single-phase unit for a domestic filter system up to large commercial machines intended for public pools, water parks and heavily used hotel installations. Here you will find the Magnus-2 and Magnus-4 commercial series alongside the smaller Winner, so a pump house can be equipped or an ageing unit replaced with something of a comparable rating.

The Magnus-2 and Magnus-4 commercial series

The Magnus name covers the large-capacity end of the range, where the pump is expected to run long hours against the resistance of sand filters, heat exchangers and long pipe runs. Motor outputs listed here are given in horsepower and the model number follows the same logic throughout: Magnus-4 250 is a 2.5 HP machine, Magnus-4 1000 is 10 HP, Magnus-2 1500 is 15 HP.

  • Magnus-4: 250, 300, 400, 550, 750 and 1000 — covering 2.5 to 10 HP.
  • Magnus-2: 1250 and 1500 — the largest outputs in the range, for high-flow commercial duty.
  • BR versions: the same frame sizes supplied with a bronze impeller instead of the standard impeller.

Because several outputs are offered in both plain and BR form, it is worth noting the exact suffix on the nameplate before ordering a replacement. A Magnus-4 750 and a Magnus-4 750 BR share a rating but not the same internal specification.

Why a bronze impeller

Bronze impellers are specified where the water chemistry or the duty is harder on wetted parts than in an ordinary private pool. Public pools with high bather loads, elevated sanitiser levels, brackish or salt-treated water, and installations that run continuously all year put more stress on the hydraulic end of a pump than a seasonal garden pool does. Choosing a BR model at the outset, or matching a BR model when replacing an existing pump, keeps the installation consistent and avoids mixing a standard impeller into a system that was originally built around a metal one.

If an existing pump is being swapped out, note whether the old unit was a BR variant. Pool builders often specified the bronze version deliberately, and dropping back to the standard impeller on a replacement is a change to the original design intent rather than a like-for-like swap.

The Winner for domestic filtration

At the other end of the range sits the Winner 50M, a 0.5 HP self-priming pump with a fibreglass-reinforced polypropylene body in black. It is rated 4.2 A at 230 V AC and uses 63 mm glued socket connections, which is the common pipe size for mid-sized domestic filter circuits. The reinforced plastic housing resists the pool chemicals it is in contact with and keeps weight down in a small plant room or pump pit.

Two details decide whether this pump fits an existing installation: the 63 mm glue socket size and the single-phase 230 V supply. If the current pipework is a different diameter, adaptors or a short section of new pipe will be needed, and the suction line should stay as short and straight as possible so the pump primes reliably.

Identifying the right pump or part

Pumps of this type are usually replaced or serviced rather than guessed at, so work from what is already installed.

  • Nameplate first: read the full model designation, including any BR suffix, plus voltage and phase from the motor label.
  • Pipe connections: measure the outside diameter of the suction and discharge pipes and note whether they are glued or threaded.
  • Mounting footprint: check the base dimensions and the height of the pump centreline against the existing pipework, particularly on the larger Magnus frames.
  • Wear parts: mechanical seals, lid O-rings, strainer baskets and impellers are the components that typically need attention; take the old seal or gasket to measure rather than ordering by eye.
  • Duty: pump output should suit the filter and the required turnover, so a larger motor is not automatically a better replacement.

Here we list the SACI commercial pumps in the Magnus-2 and Magnus-4 series across the 2.5 to 15 HP outputs, in both standard and bronze-impeller BR form, together with the 0.5 HP Winner 50M for domestic filter circuits with 63 mm pipework.

Keeping the full ladder of outputs together makes it straightforward to match an existing installation exactly, or to step up or down a frame size when a filter, pipework or bather load has changed. Orders are shipped to customers throughout Europe.
