Water Tech Pool Blaster cordless pool and spa vacuums
Water Tech is known for the Pool Blaster family of battery-powered vacuums: handheld and pole-mounted cleaners that pull debris into an internal filter bag rather than feeding it back through the pool’s circulation system. Because they work independently of the pump, skimmer and hoses, they are used for spot cleaning after a storm, for steps and corners that a robot or suction cleaner misses, and for spas, hot tubs and small above-ground pools that have no vacuum port at all. Here you will find the cleaners themselves alongside the consumable filter bags that keep them working.
Which model does what
The range runs from compact handheld units to full-size vacuums for larger pools, and the differences are mostly suction, runtime and bag capacity.
- Spa Vac Ultra – a small 4 × C-cell handheld unit intended for spas, hot tubs and footwells.
- Aqua Broom and Aqua Broom XL Ultra – slim-bodied vacuums for spas and small pools; the XL Ultra runs on 5 D-cells and uses the long 15 × 5.5 cm bag.
- Catfish and Catfish Li Gen 2 – mid-size cleaners with an 8 cm bag; the Li Gen 2 is lithium-powered with a 45 minute runtime.
- Max Li and Max CG Li – the full-size models with the wider 11 cm bag, quoted at one hour and 60 minutes of runtime respectively, the CG being the commercial-grade version.
- Volt FX-2 and Volt FX-4 Li – powered-brush cordless vacuums, the FX-4 Li with a 45 minute runtime.
- Leaf Vac – a cordless leaf vacuum with a wide intake and mesh bag, for autumn debris rather than fine dust.
Choosing the right filter bag
Filter bags are the part most often reordered, and they are matched to the body diameter of the cleaner, not to the model name alone. Measure or check the fitting before ordering: Catfish bags are 8 cm, Max and Max CG bags are 11 cm, and the Aqua Broom bag is the long 15 × 5.5 cm format. A bag from the wrong family will either not seat on the intake or will leak debris past the collar.
Within each size there is a choice of filtration grade, and it is worth keeping more than one type on the shelf:
- All-purpose bag – the standard reusable bag for leaves, grit and general debris; the sensible default for weekly use.
- Sand & silt bag – a tighter weave for fine sand, silt and dead algae that passes straight through a standard bag.
- Micro-filter bag inserts – disposable-style inserts, supplied in a 5-pack that suits Aqua Broom, Catfish, Max and Max CG, used inside the existing bag to catch the finest dust.
- Extreme micro-filter bag – the finest option for the 11 cm Max and Max CG bodies, for pools with persistent fine sediment.
Finer media clogs faster, so suction dropping off mid-clean is usually a full bag rather than a failing motor. Rinse bags inside out after every use and let them dry fully; a bag left damp and packed with organic debris will stiffen and lose flow.
Batteries, charging and power supplies
The range splits between models that take disposable cells and models with built-in lithium-ion packs. The C-cell and D-cell units are convenient for occasional spa use, while the Li models suit regular cleaning because the stated runtimes are long enough to cover a whole pool in one pass. Charge lithium units fully before storing them over winter and top them up periodically rather than leaving them flat.
Because Water Tech equipment originates in the United States, some chargers are supplied with a US plug. The US to EU plug adaptor listed here is the simple fix for that, and avoids improvising with an unsuitable travel adaptor.

Here we stock the Pool Blaster cleaners themselves — Spa Vac Ultra, Aqua Broom, Aqua Broom XL Ultra, Catfish, Catfish Li Gen 2, Max Li, Max CG Li, Volt FX-2, Volt FX-4 Li and the Leaf Vac — together with the full set of 8 cm, 11 cm and Aqua Broom filter bags in all-purpose, sand & silt, micro-filter and extreme micro-filter grades, plus the plug adaptor.
Keeping both the machines and their consumables on one page makes reordering straightforward: note the bag diameter from your cleaner, decide how fine the filtration needs to be for your water, and pick the matching bag. Customers across Europe order from the same range, which is why the mains adaptor is listed alongside the vacuums.
