Hanna Instruments
Hanna Instruments — Italian manufacturer of professional water-quality meters, controllers and dosing systems for swimming pools and industrial process control. Poolparthub is an authorised Hanna dealer for the Benelux.
Hanna Instruments pool controllers, electrodes and analyser spares
Hanna Instruments equipment is used where pool water needs to be measured continuously rather than tested by hand: pH and ORP dosing controllers that switch acid and disinfectant pumps, colorimetric chlorine analysers that draw a sample and read free chlorine against a reagent, and the electrodes, reagents and wet-end spares that keep both working. Here you will find the controller families alongside the consumable parts they depend on, because an installed system is only as reliable as its electrode and its tubing.
Pool Line dosing controllers and their model codes
The pool controllers are built around the BL series. BL121 and BL122 cover pH, ORP and temperature with relay outputs for external dosing pumps; BL131 and BL132 are also pH/ORP/temperature panels driving external pumps. The suffix matters more than anything else when ordering a replacement or a second unit:
- -10 versions are in-line: the electrodes are fitted directly into the pipework using a collar, as with the BL121-10, BL131-10 and BL122-10.
- -20 versions arrive as a panel with a flow cell, so the sample is taken off the main line and passed through a mounted measuring chamber — BL121-20, BL122-20, BL131-20 and BL132-20.
- Connected models add remote access: Ethernet on the BL122-20, and Hanna Cloud support on the BL122-10 and BL132-20.
Before you order, read the full code from the label on the instrument, including the suffix. A -10 and a -20 of the same family are not interchangeable without changing how the sample reaches the sensors.
Choosing a replacement pH or ORP electrode
Electrodes are the wearing part of any controller. Glass tips foul, junctions block and reference electrolyte is gradually consumed, so response slows and calibration drifts even when the instrument itself is sound. The range covers several different builds, and the differences are what you need to match:
- Connector — BNC on industrial models such as the HI1286DGB, DIN on the amplified HI1005, T-type on the HI1090T, and multi-pin on the HI2114P. The connector must suit the controller input.
- Cable length — from short 0.5 m leads to 2 m and 4 m versions. Measure the run from the flow cell or collar to the enclosure before choosing.
- Body material — glass bodies for chemical resistance and easy cleaning, PEI and plastic bodies where knocks are likely.
- Electrolyte and junction — refillable, gel and Viscolene types with single ceramic, double ground glass or cloth junctions. Gel and Viscolene versions are maintenance-free; ground glass junctions suit dirtier water.
- Temperature sensing — some electrodes, such as the HI1005, integrate a Pt100 sensor so one probe handles pH and temperature compensation.
PCA series chlorine analysers, reagents and wet-end parts
The PCA analysers, including the PCA320-2 chlorine and pH analyser/controller, work by pumping a measured sample into a cell, mixing reagent in and reading the colour change. Everything in that sample path is a consumable. The free chlorine liquid reagent HI70430 covers 0–5 mg/L in a 500 mL bottle and is used up continuously, so it is worth keeping a spare on the shelf.
Mechanical spares follow the same logic. Peristaltic tubing hardens and loses flow, which quietly biases readings before it fails outright — hence the complete tubing kits HI70483 and the three-pack HI70484. The measuring cell HI704871 replaces a scaled or scratched chamber, the magnetic stir bar HI70486 comes in a pack of two for the mixing stage, and the solenoid valve HI70489 is the 24 VAC / 50 Hz version. Check the voltage marked on your existing valve rather than assuming.

Here we list the Hanna Instruments pool range in one place: BL series pH/ORP/temperature controllers in both in-line and panel-with-flow-cell forms, PCA series chlorine analysers, and the pH and ORP electrodes that serve them across BNC, DIN, T-type and multi-pin connections.
Alongside the instruments sit the parts that actually get replaced — reagents, tubing kits, measuring cells, stir bars, solenoid valves and electrodes in several cable lengths. If you are unsure which variant fits, note the model code from your controller and the connector type and cable length of the probe currently installed; those three details usually settle it.
