Elbe Basic Line
Elbe Basic Line reinforced PVC liners for pools and ponds
Here you will find the Elbe Basic Line programme of reinforced PVC membrane, supplied on the roll for lining swimming pools, ponds and water features. Rather than a pre-made bag cut to one set of dimensions, membrane of this type is welded on site, which means the same roll can follow a rectangular pool, a freeform shape, Roman steps, a bench or a beach entry. The range on this page is built around three product types — Classic (SGB 150), Classic Anti-Slip (STG 200) and Natural Supra — in roll lengths of 25 m and 10 m and widths of 1.65 m and 2.00 m.
What the range covers
The colour choice is deliberately broad, because the shade of the membrane is what determines how the water reads once the pool is filled. Light colours give the familiar bright blue-green water, while dark greys and black produce a mirror-like, pond-style surface.
- Classic (SGB 150): smooth pool membrane on 25 m rolls in white, sand, grey, anthracite and black, in both 1.65 m and 2.00 m widths.
- Classic Anti-Slip (STG 200): textured membrane on 10 m rolls in 1.65 m width, in white, turquoise, dove blue, night blue, anthracite and black.
- Natural Supra: pond membrane on 25 m rolls in natural shades such as sand, light grey, slate grey and dark green, in 1.65 m and 2.00 m widths.
- Widths: 1.65 m across the whole programme, with 2.00 m available on several Classic and Natural Supra colours.
Classic, anti-slip and pond membrane compared
Smooth Classic membrane is the standard choice for pool walls and floors. It is easy to clean, works with automatic cleaners and welds neatly into corners and around fittings. The anti-slip version carries a textured surface and is normally used only on the areas people stand on: steps, the treads of a Roman entry, a submerged bench, a beach or zero-depth zone, and the floor of shallow paddling areas. Because it is usually needed in modest quantities, it is offered here on shorter 10 m rolls, and the colour list is matched to the smooth range so steps can be made to contrast or to blend.
Natural Supra is intended for ponds and natural-look basins. The sand, light grey, slate grey and dark green shades are chosen to disappear against planting, gravel and stone rather than to brighten the water.
How to work out what to order
Membrane is welded from strips, so the usable figure is not the pool surface area but the number of strip runs needed once overlaps are taken into account. Work through the following before ordering:
- Measure the developed surface: floor width plus both wall heights gives the length of each cross-run; multiply by the number of runs needed to cover the pool length.
- Allow for welded overlaps: each seam between adjacent strips consumes width, so deduct a margin from the nominal 1.65 m or 2.00 m when planning the layout.
- Choose the width to suit the shape: 2.00 m rolls reduce the number of seams on larger pools, while 1.65 m is often easier to handle in confined plant rooms, on steps and around tight radii.
- Add material for details: steps, skimmer and light surrounds, inlets, drains and coping edges all need extra offcuts.
- Keep the type code: note whether the project calls for Classic (SGB 150), Classic Anti-Slip (STG 200) or Natural Supra, and check the technical sheet of the exact item for thickness and surface finish before cutting.
Installation and long-term care
Reinforced membrane is hot-air welded, so installation is work for an installer with the right welding equipment and experience of detailing around fittings. The substrate matters: a clean, smooth, dry shell and a suitable geotextile or felt underlay will do more for the finished appearance than anything else. Edges are finished against coping profiles and corner strips, and penetrations are sealed with flanges rather than relying on the weld alone.
In service, keep the water balanced and avoid leaving concentrated chemicals or tablets lying on the membrane. It is worth setting aside a spare length from the same roll and colour batch: a patch cut from the original material is the tidiest way to deal with an accidental cut years later, and colours can shift slightly between production runs.
Elbe Basic Line at PoolParthub.com
Here we list the Basic Line rolls as individual items, so each colour, type and width can be ordered on its own — a full 25 m roll of Classic for the main shell, or a single 10 m roll of anti-slip for the steps of an existing pool.
The selection is kept as a straightforward matrix of type, colour and width, which makes it easy to match an existing pool, specify a new build, or line a pond in a natural shade. If a project needs a particular combination, compare the roll length and width in the product title against the layout plan before ordering.
