This is the genuine OEM ultra premium traction motor for the Astralpool Xtreme 2 and Xtreme 3 robotic pool cleaners. It is the dedicated drive motor — part number 46 on the exploded-view diagram — responsible for powering the tracks and propelling the robot across the pool floor, walls and waterline. Without a correctly functioning traction motor, the robot cannot navigate or complete its cleaning cycle.

Function and role in the drivetrain

The traction motor converts low-voltage DC electrical energy into rotational torque, which is transmitted via drive belts to the crawler tracks on each side of the robot. This motor is entirely separate from the pump/impeller motor: it solely governs movement, direction changes and wall-climbing ability. Any loss of drive power, erratic direction changes or a robot that spins in one place points directly to this component.
