Griffon WDF-05 PVC Solvent Cement with Brush – 250 ml (WRAS Approved)

The Griffon WDF-05 is a fast-curing, thixotropic (non-drip) solvent cement designed for bonding rigid PVC, flexible PVC, and ABS pipes, fittings, and sleeves in pressurised pool and drainage systems. Its characteristic transparent-blue colour gives instant visual confirmation of coverage, and it cures fast enough to reach full working pressure in as little as 10 minutes. This 250 ml bottle includes an integrated brush in the cap for clean, controlled application.

Compatibility & Applications

WDF-05 bonds PVC-U, PVC-M, flexible PVC hose, and ABS to pipes and fittings up to 160 mm in diameter, at pressures up to 16 bar for PVC (5 bar for ABS). It is well suited to swimming pool plumbing, spa and whirlpool pipework, water treatment systems, and any pressurised installation in a damp or wet environment. The cement meets EN 14680 / EN 14814 standards and carries WRAS approval for use in drinking-water systems.

Why Genuine Matters

Griffon WDF-05 contains dissolved PVC resin that chemically welds the joint, matching the pipe’s own chemical resistance — a bond quality that generic adhesives cannot replicate. Its thixotropic gel formula stays put on vertical surfaces and gaps up to 0.8 mm, preventing the under-filling that leads to joint failure under pressure. WRAS and KIWA certification guarantee it has been independently tested for potable-water safety.

Installation Notes

Cut and deburr pipe ends squarely, then clean all surfaces with Griffon Cleaner C-05 and a lint-free cloth before applying the cement. Apply quickly and evenly to both surfaces, push and rotate the joint, and leave it unloaded for at least 10 minutes at 20 °C before pressurising. Do not use below 5 °C. Keep the cap firmly replaced between applications — the solvent cement is volatile and must be kept away from ignition sources.
