Waterway – 1.5-inch M to 50 mm F Spa Pipe Adapter

The Waterway 417-6137 is a high-pressure PVC socket adaptor for hot tub and spa plumbing, with a 1.5-inch male end on one side and a 50 mm female socket on the other. It lets you change pipework from imperial to metric, or the other way round, without altering the rest of the system. Because the imperial end is male, it is not the same as a female-to-female adapter.

What this 1.5-inch to 50 mm adapter does

This replacement spa adapter joins imperial and metric pipework in a single fitting. The male side has an outside diameter of 48 mm (1.5-inch), and the female side is a 50 mm socket.

It fits into your hot tub or spa plumbing for easy connections, so you can switch between metric and imperial sizes wherever your pipe run needs it.

Connections you need on each side

• 1.5-inch side: the male fitting needs a 1.5-inch female connection, such as a straight connector, before you insert a 1.5-inch pipe.
• 50 mm side: the female socket takes a 50 mm pipe directly, for example a 50 mm flexible pipe.

If you are working with flexible pipe on the imperial side, a 1.5″ flexible pipe – 15 m roll is the matching size.

How to choose the right adapter

Check which ends your pipework actually needs. This adapter has a male 1.5-inch end, so it only works where a 1.5-inch female connection is available on that side.

If you have enough space and want to connect a 1.5-inch pipe directly to a 50 mm pipe, the 1.5″ F to 50 mm F adapter is the alternative to consider.
