Tecmark – SPDT Latching Spa Air Switch with Side Spout

The Tecmark TBS-401 is a latching SPDT spa air switch with a side spout. It switches one piece of spa equipment, such as a pump, blower or light, on and off. It works with an air button and air switch tube, and unlike a DPDT switch it controls a single item of equipment.

How the latching air switch works

The TBS-401 is a “latching” switch. The contacter changes position once for each air impulse and stays in that position until the next impulse arrives. One press of the air button switches the equipment on, and the next press switches it off.

The switch is designed to turn on and off one of the pieces of equipment in your spa, for example a pump, a blower or a light.

SPDT or DPDT: choosing the right air switch

This is an SPDT version, so it controls a single piece of equipment. If you need to control two pieces of equipment, you need a DPDT switch instead. Check what your spa needs before ordering, as the two types are not the same.

This model has a side spout. Compare this with the spout position on your current switch to make sure you order the right replacement.

What you need to use it

A pneumatic air switch works with an air button and air switch tube. Air switch tube is available per metre, so you can choose the length your installation needs.

Pneumatic systems like this are now considered old fashioned, because modern spas typically use low-voltage digital controls. They remain simple, inexpensive and easy to install, which makes this switch a practical replacement for a spa that already uses air buttons.
