Rainbow - Top-Load Filter Canister Lid for Rainbow RTL Filters - 172385

Rainbow – Top-Load Filter Canister Lid for Rainbow RTL Filters

The Pentair 172385 is a replacement filter canister lid for Rainbow Top-Load filters, such as the RTL Dynamic II. It sits on top of the filter canister and is held in place by a lock ring. It is a different part from the Rainbow filter lid with tablet dispenser, and it is supplied with two gaskets.

Compatibility

This lid is made by Pentair for the Rainbow Top-Load range of filters. The source names the RTL Dynamic II as one example of a filter it works with.

Before you order, check which Rainbow filter you have and compare the Pentair part number 172385 with the lid you are replacing. The lid is a simple but essential part of the filter canister, so it is worth confirming the match first.

Fitting and dimensions

The lid fits on top of the filter canister and is secured by the lock ring. The measurements below will help you compare it with your existing lid:

• Thickness: approx. 63 mm
• Outside diameter: 160 mm
• Inside diameter: 142 mm
• Outside diameter of the plug that fits into the filter: 52 mm

If your old lid is cracked or damaged, measure the plug and the outer diameter on the new lid against the filter opening before fitting.

What is included

The lid comes with two gaskets, so you have the sealing parts needed to fit it.

The lock ring that holds the lid in place is a separate part. If yours is worn or missing, you can look at the Pentair Rainbow Top-Load threaded lock ring as well as the lid.

How to choose the right filter lid

Rainbow filters are available with different lid styles. This Pentair 172385 lid is for Top-Load filters and is not the version with a tablet dispenser. If you need a dispenser lid, choose that part instead.

Use the part number and the dimensions above to make sure you order the right replacement for your Rainbow Top-Load filter.
