Balboa – VL404 Spa Topside Keypad for GS500Z and GS501Z Systems

The Balboa VL404 (G8244) is a 4-button hot tub keypad for Balboa GS100, GS500Z, Balboa GS501Z control system and GS511Z spa control systems. This replacement spa topside panel is supplied without the overlay, so check whether you need to order that separately.

VL404 keypad compatibility

The VL404 topside keypad is compatible with the following Balboa control systems:

• GS100
• GS500Z
• GS501Z
• GS511Z

It also replaces the Hydropool HPL103/105 keypad, part number 51587.

Buttons and functions

This spa control panel has four buttons, covering the everyday functions of the tub:

• Temperature control
• Light
• Jets
• Blower

Choosing the right part number

The VL404 is available as two versions, and the difference is the overlay. This page covers the version without overlay, Balboa part number G8244, which replaces part number 52825. The version supplied with an overlay is Balboa part number 51223.

If you already have a damaged or worn overlay, the Balboa VL404 overlay is sold separately. Compare the number on the back of your current keypad with those listed here before ordering.

Fitting and dimensions

Check that your cut-out matches these measurements before ordering:

• Keypad: 185 x 81 mm
• Cut-out area: 159 mm x 56 mm
• Cable length: 2 m
• Connection: RJ45 plug

The keypad connects to the control system with the RJ45 plug on its cable, so no other connector type is involved.

What is included and documentation

The keypad is delivered without the adhesive overlay. The overlay must be purchased separately if you need one for this version.
