Balboa – 2 kW M7 Spa Heater for Balboa M7 Systems

The Balboa 58145 is a 2 kW replacement hot tub heater with an Incoloy element, designed for Balboa M7 control systems. It fits almost all M7 systems, although the 3 kW version is much more commonly used, so check which rating your spa currently has before ordering.

Compatibility with Balboa M7 systems

This 2 kW spa heater is compatible with almost all Balboa M7 control systems. The M7 was originally known as the Millenium 7, so you may see either name on your equipment.

The 3 kW heater is the more common choice on M7 spas. If you are unsure whether your spa needs the 2 kW or the 3 kW version, contact us with the part number printed on your current heater and we will help you check.

How the M7 heater detects water flow

The M7 system uses two very sensitive temperature probes positioned inside the barrel of the heater. They are used to detect the rate of water flow through the heater. The probes are included with this heater.

Because flow is detected by temperature sensing, the system does not rely on moving parts such as pressure switches or flow switches, which can be prone to failure.

Fitting and dimensions

The heater is 381 mm (15 inches) long, measured without the connectors and gaskets. It is usually connected to 2-inch (60 mm) pipes.

What is included and what to order separately

The heater is supplied with its two 2-inch unions and Balboa gaskets. The temperature probes and cables are also included.

If you are replacing an existing heater, you may also need to add union sockets for 2-inch pipes. Union sockets for 1.5-inch pipes are also available if your plumbing is smaller.
