This is the genuine AstralPool replacement electrode cell for the Astral Sel Basic 30 salt chlorinator (ref. 41654), listed as position 10 in the official Fluidra exploded view. Comprising seven titanium plates coated with ruthenium oxide, the electrode electrolyses dissolved salt in pool water to generate natural hypochlorous acid — providing consistent, chemical-free chlorine production for pools up to 30 m³. Replacing a worn electrode restores your salt chlorinator to full factory performance.

How It Works

The seven-plate electrode separates the sodium and chlorine components of dissolved salt (NaCl). The isolated chlorine element dissolves instantly in contact with water, producing hypochlorous acid (HClO) to disinfect the pool. The cell also supports automatic polarity inversion, which periodically reverses the electrical current between the plates to break down limescale deposits and extend electrode service life.

Compatibility

This electrode (SKU 54051) is the correct replacement for the AstralPool Sel Basic 30 (ref. 41654) and is also confirmed compatible with the Astral Sel Clear 30 (ref. 54041) and Energy Sel systems. It is part of a range — equivalent electrodes are available for the SEL 55 (SKU 54052) and SEL 95 (SKU 54053) variants. Note: the electrode housing/cup is not included and must be reused from your existing unit.
