AstralPool - 2½" Sand Drain Assembly for Viena Filter Side Outlet D.900 - SP-04-0279

AstralPool – 2½” Sand Drain Assembly for Viena Filter Side Outlet D.900

This is the genuine AstralPool 2½” sand drain assembly (position 8 in the official Fluidra exploded view) designed specifically for the Viena Filter Side Outlet D.900 (ref. 00544FP74). It provides the controlled drainage point at the base of the filter tank, allowing water and sand to be safely evacuated during servicing, winterisation, or media replacement.

Compatibility

This drain assembly is an exact-fit spare part for the AstralPool Viena Filter Side Outlet D.900 (parent SKU 00544FP74). The 2½” connection size matches the larger-diameter specification used across AstralPool’s 900mm filter range. It is not interchangeable with smaller-diameter filter models, which use 1½” or 2″ drain fittings — always verify your filter model and exploded-view position before ordering.

Why Genuine Matters

Genuine AstralPool replacement parts are manufactured to the same tolerances as the original components, ensuring a reliable, leak-free seal under the filter’s maximum working pressure of 2.5 kg/cm². Aftermarket alternatives may not match the thread pitch, seal geometry, or chemical resistance required for long-term use with chlorinated pool water.

Installation

The drain assembly fits at position 8 on the Viena D.900 filter body. Drain and depressurise the filter fully before removing the old assembly. Hand-tighten the new assembly and confirm alignment before applying final torque — over-tightening thermoplastic fittings can cause cracking. Professional installation is recommended if you are not familiar with pressurised filter systems.
