AquaFinesse – Spa Clean Biofilm Removal Tablet for Hot Tub Plumbing

AquaFinesse Spa Clean is a deep cleaning tablet for hot tubs and spas, made to remove biofilm from the plumbing and other places you cannot see. It has an environmentally friendly formula and is designed for the deep clean you carry out at your 3-monthly water change, when starting a new spa, or when switching from traditional sanitisers to AquaFinesse.

When to use Spa Clean in your hot tub

Biofilm forms from oil, grime and bacteria that find their way into the spa. Over time the bacteria bind it all together in a slimy film that can coat the inside of the pipework, which makes it hard to keep the water properly sanitised.

Consider a deep clean if you notice any of the following:

• Slime around the water line, skimmer or jets
• Unexplained green, black, brown or white flakes in the water

Spa Clean is suited to the 3-monthly water change, to treating a new spa, and to changing over from traditional sanitisers to AquaFinesse.

How to use the Spa Clean tablet

Follow these steps for a deep clean of the spa interior and pipework:

• Remove the filter and raise the chlorine level to between 3 and 5 ppm before you begin.
• Make sure all jets and air valves are set to the open position.
• Add the tablet to the basket above the removed filter, if possible in water over 32°C. Alternatively, dissolve it in a bucket of warm water first and then add it to the spa water.
• Run the pumps on full power for 20 minutes to get a good flow.
• Repeat the pump cycle at least 2 to 3 times during the treatment. The recommended treatment time is 6 to 12 hours, depending on how severe the problem is.
• When the treatment is finished, run the pumps before emptying the spa, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
• Refit the filter, refill with fresh water and add non-chlorine shock powder or Active Oxygen.
• Carry on with your usual water treatment.
