ACIS pool lighting and equipment

ACIS is a name that pool owners in Europe will recognise from equipment lists and from the labels on existing installations. Here we group the ACIS items we carry, so that an owner replacing a failed component can work from the manufacturer’s own reference rather than guessing at a generic equivalent. At present the range centres on underwater lighting, with the PowerLED DESIGN colour LED lamp under reference 64191LC15.

Lighting is one of the few parts of a pool that is both decorative and technical. It has to survive permanent immersion, chlorinated or salt-treated water, and years of temperature swings, while still being serviceable from the deck. That combination is why lamps are among the most commonly replaced items on an otherwise healthy pool, and why ordering by exact reference saves a great deal of trouble.

PowerLED DESIGN colour LED lighting

The PowerLED DESIGN is a colour LED underwater lamp built around twelve LEDs. Colour lighting of this kind is used both for ambience in the evening and for making the water body visible, so that the pool reads as a feature of the garden after dark rather than a dark rectangle. Compared with the older incandescent and halogen projectors that many pools were originally fitted with, LED units draw far less power for the same perceived brightness and have a much longer service life, which is the usual reason owners upgrade rather than simply replace like for like.

Points worth checking before ordering a colour LED lamp for an existing pool:

  • Tensiune de alimentare — underwater pool lighting is normally fed from a safety transformer rather than directly from the mains, so confirm what the existing circuit delivers and what the lamp is rated for.
  • Mounting arrangement — a lamp may sit in a wall niche, in a surface-mounted housing, or in a liner-specific flange. The housing you already have in the wall dictates what will fit.
  • Lungimea cablului — the run from the lamp to the junction box or transformer needs to reach without joints under water.
  • Control method — colour-changing lamps are switched either by a dedicated controller or by a sequence of on/off pulses. Mixing control types across several lamps on one circuit can leave them out of step.
  • Number of lamps on the circuit — the transformer has to suit the total load, which matters when swapping old halogen units for LED ones or adding a second lamp.

Identifying the right ACIS part

The quickest route to the correct item is the reference printed by the manufacturer, in this case 64191LC15. References are usually found on the lamp body, on the rear of the housing, on the original packaging, or in the documentation handed over when the pool was built. If none of that survives, work from physical evidence instead: note the outside diameter of the front bezel, the diameter and depth of the niche, the thread or clamp arrangement that holds the unit in place, and the diameter and length of the existing cable. Photographs of the lamp face and of the back of the unit, taken before anything is dismantled, are often more useful than measurements alone.

Where a pool has been renovated, be aware that the lighting housing and the lamp may come from different generations of equipment. Checking the housing first, rather than the lamp, tells you what the pool can actually accept.

Servicing and seals

Most underwater lamps are serviced from the pool side, and the integrity of the gasket between the lamp and its housing is what keeps water out of the electrical compartment. When a unit is opened, inspect the seal for flattening, hardening or splits and measure its inner and outer diameter and its section thickness before ordering a replacement, since visually similar rings are often a millimetre or two apart. Isolate the circuit before any work, and follow the lowering of the water level or the extraction procedure specified for the housing in question.

ACIS at PoolParthub.com

Here you will find the ACIS items we stock listed under their own manufacturer references, so that an owner or installer can match an existing installation without cross-referencing a third-party catalogue. The current listing covers the PowerLED DESIGN colour LED lamp with 12 LEDs, reference 64191LC15.

We keep this brand alongside the pumps, filters, dosing equipment and lighting of other European manufacturers, because a typical repair involves more than one make. Grouping the parts in one place means a lamp, a seal and a transformer can be sorted out in a single order rather than in three.
