HydroQuip

HydroQuip makes heater elements for spa heaters, including 2 kW standard elements for 15″ heaters. At PoolParthub.com you will find heater elements for spa heaters in titanium and Incoloy, so you can match the fit and material of your existing part. The right part lets you repair your spa heater instead of replacing the whole unit.

HydroQuip spa heater elements

A spa heater is one of the hardest-working components in a hot tub or swim spa. It runs every time the water drops below setpoint, it sits permanently submerged, and it is exposed to whatever chemistry the water happens to be carrying. The element itself is the consumable part: the tube, the manifold and the pressure switch often outlive several elements. Here you will find HydroQuip replacement heating elements for 15″ spa heater assemblies, offered in two metals so the part can be matched to the water the spa is actually running.

What the range covers

The current selection is focused on one of the most common spa heater formats — the straight element designed to fit a 15″ heater tube at a 2 kW rating. Both versions share the same physical arrangement; the difference lies in the alloy used for the heated section.

  • 2 kW titanium element, PPS-10001 — a standard-pattern element for 15″ spa heaters, with the heated loop in titanium.
  • 2 kW Incoloy element, 25-4026ET-BI — the equivalent element in Incoloy, the traditional alloy used in spa and water-heating applications.

Because the element is sold separately from the tube, a heater that has failed electrically does not necessarily need a complete new assembly. If the stainless or plastic tube, the end caps and the sensor ports are sound, replacing the element alone is usually the shorter job.

Choosing between titanium and Incoloy

Both metals are used widely in heated water. Incoloy is the long-established choice and performs well in conventionally sanitised fresh water. Titanium is considerably more resistant to chloride attack, which is why it is the usual recommendation for spas running a salt chlorine generator, for water with a high chloride or bromide content, and for installations where the water chemistry is known to drift.

Two points are worth keeping in mind whichever metal is chosen. First, no element tolerates being run dry — air locks and low water level cause failures that look like a faulty part but are in fact an operating problem. Second, scale and low total alkalinity shorten element life more reliably than anything else, so if an element has failed early it is worth checking the balance of the water before fitting the replacement.

Identifying the right element for your heater

Spa heater elements are not interchangeable by rating alone. Before ordering, work through the following:

  • Tube length — these elements are for 15″ heater tubes. Measure the tube body itself rather than the whole assembly, as end fittings and unions add length.
  • Putere nominală — the element must match what the control pack and supply are set up to run. Fitting a different wattage changes the current drawn and is not a like-for-like swap.
  • Terminal and flange pattern — compare the stud spacing, the mounting flange and the position of the sensor well against the old part, ideally with the element removed so both can be laid side by side.
  • Gasket or seal — the sealing washer is a wear item in its own right. Inspect it on removal and renew it rather than reusing a compressed one.
  • Existing part number — where the old element carries a legible number, it remains the quickest way to confirm the pattern.

Signs that point to the element rather than elsewhere in the circuit include a heater that trips the RCD as soon as it calls for heat, visible blistering or pitting of the heated loop, heavy scale crusting, and continuity readings that are open or that show a path to earth.

Keeping a heater element in good condition

Isolate the spa at the supply before any work on the heater, and drain or close off the circulation so the tube can be opened without flooding the equipment bay. When refitting, tighten the terminal connections properly — a loose terminal generates heat at the stud and is a common cause of scorched wiring. Keep the pH and alkalinity within the normal spa range, clean or replace the filter cartridge on schedule so flow through the tube stays strong, and purge air after a refill before allowing the heater to run.

Here we list HydroQuip heating elements for 15″ spa heaters in both titanium and Incoloy, so the replacement can be chosen on the basis of water chemistry rather than simply on what came out of the tube. Stocking both metals at the same rating and length means a spa running salt or bromine water can be upgraded at the moment of repair, with no change to the heater body.

Elements are an everyday repair item on hot tubs and swim spas, and sourcing just the element keeps a straightforward service job straightforward. If the pattern of the existing part is unclear, send through the markings on the old element and the measured tube length and we will help confirm the match before anything is ordered.
