Rated to 16 bar for water and 10 bar for gas in the SDR11 wall-thickness class, this 32 mm Profec electrofusion socket provides a pressure-tight, fully welded joint on PE100 pipework — the smallest diameter in the Profec DVGW-certified range. Energised at 24VAC via a standard 4 mm electrical connector, the embedded resistance coil melts and fuses the socket to the pipe ends, producing a joint that is as strong as the parent pipe. DVGW approval confirms compliance with German and broader European requirements for potable-water and gas distribution pipework.

Fusion process & joint integrity

The electrofusion method passes current through a wire coil moulded into the fitting body, generating localised heat that welds the PE100 socket to both pipe ends simultaneously. The resulting joint is monolithic and leak-free, with no mechanical seal to degrade over time — making electrofusion the preferred jointing technique wherever access restricts butt-welding equipment. A built-in welding indicator confirms that fusion has been achieved before the joint is pressurised.
