Rated to 16 bar for water and 10 bar for gas, this Profec 20 mm PE100 electrofusion socket is the smallest entry point in Profec’s DVGW-approved SDR11 EF fitting range — ideal for pool plant-room pipework, pressure water distribution, and gas-service connections at the 20 mm pipe size. Welded at a standard 24 VAC supply voltage, it produces a fully fused, permanent joint compatible with all SDR11 PE100 pipe.

Electrofusion joint integrity

An embedded resistance wire coil heats precisely at the pipe–fitting interface when energised, melting the PE100 material uniformly to form a monolithic, leak-free joint. Because no mechanical seals or O-rings are involved, the connection is as strong as the parent pipe and highly resistant to vibration and ground movement — a significant advantage in buried pool plant-room supply lines or underground distribution runs.

DVGW approval & material quality

The DVGW mark (the German technical and scientific association for gas and water) confirms this fitting meets rigorous European standards for both potable water and gas distribution, making it fully compliant for regulated installations across the EU. Moulded from virgin PE100 high-density polyethylene, the socket is chemically inert, corrosion-proof, and suited to the chlorinated and salt-laden water environments found in pool and aquaculture applications.

System compatibility & pipe sizing

At 20 mm, this socket suits the smallest standard metric PE pressure pipe used in pool and irrigation systems — a common size for chemical dosing lines, bypass loops, and sensor tapping branches. The SDR11 pressure class is compatible with SDR13.6 and SDR17 pipes of the same outer diameter, giving installers flexibility when joining pipe of varying wall thickness within the same network. An electrofusion control unit (sold separately) is required to weld the fitting.
