SloanLED

SloanLED makes LED lighting for spas, including the LiquaLED Quad-LED 4-LED Spyder spa light. At PoolParthub.com you will find replacement spa lights from this range, so you can restore the glow in your hot tub without starting from scratch. With the right part, you can repair instead of replace and keep your spa in use for longer.

SloanLED spa and pool lighting

SloanLED is a name that appears regularly inside acrylic spas and smaller pools, where lighting has to be bright, compact and able to live permanently behind a wall fitting. The LiquaLED family covers the wet-side lighting used in hot tubs, swim spas and pool steps, and is built around sealed LED pods rather than a conventional lamp and reflector. Here you will find the parts and complete light assemblies that keep that kind of installation working.

Because LED spa lighting is supplied as a sealed unit, it is not usually serviced by changing a bulb. When the light fails, dims unevenly or one colour drops out, the assembly itself is replaced and reconnected to the existing low-voltage feed. Knowing exactly which assembly was originally fitted is therefore the whole job, and the sections below explain how to work that out.

The LiquaLED Quad-LED Spyder light

The LiquaLED Quad-LED 4-LED Spyder Spa Light, part number 701564-4-DLO, is a four-pod light designed for spa shells. The “Spyder” arrangement refers to the layout: a central feed with four separate LED heads branching out from it, so a single supply can light several points around the footwell, seats or waterline rather than relying on one large lens. In a spa this spreads light more evenly and avoids the single bright hotspot that a lone fitting produces.

  • Four LED heads on one harness, fed from a single connection point.
  • Small-diameter pods intended to sit in standard spa wall or shell apertures.
  • Low-voltage wet-side lighting, powered from the spa’s own supply or transformer rather than directly from the mains.
  • Sealed construction, so the LEDs and their potting are not user-serviceable items.

Lights of this family are typically used as original equipment by spa builders, which is why a replacement is usually chosen by matching the part number rather than by measuring light output.

Identifying the right light and part number

Before ordering, check the following. A few minutes spent here avoids a fitting that does not reach or does not seat.

  • The printed part number. Codes such as 701564-4-DLO are often found on the harness label, on the back of the pod or in the spa’s own parts list. This is the fastest and most reliable match.
  • The number of pods. The “4-LED” designation means four heads. Fitting a different count leaves either unlit apertures or heads with nowhere to go.
  • The aperture diameter. Measure the hole in the shell or the outside diameter of the existing pod and its retaining nut, not the visible lens ring.
  • The cable run. Measure from the furthest pod back to the connection point in the equipment bay. A harness that is too short cannot be extended neatly on the wet side.
  • The connector type. Compare the plug on the old harness with the one on the replacement so it mates with the existing controller or light driver.
  • The sealing method. Note whether the pod seals against the shell with a gasket or an O-ring, and whether that seal came out intact.

If the spa’s documentation is missing, photograph the old assembly from the back before removing it. The combination of pod count, pod diameter and connector style is usually enough to narrow a wet-side light down to a single option.

Installation, replacement and what wears out

Spa lighting works in a hostile place: warm water on one side, a damp cabinet on the other, and sanitiser in the water. The parts that give trouble first are rarely the LEDs themselves.

  • Dichtungen und Dichtringe harden with heat and age, which shows up as damp behind the shell before it shows up as a failed light.
  • Connectors corrode where the harness meets the controller, often causing flicker or one head behaving differently from the rest.
  • Cable chafing where the harness is routed past pipework or a pump mount.
  • Lens clouding from scale or chemical residue, which dims a light that is otherwise sound.

Always isolate the spa from its supply before working on any wet-side fitting, drain to below the level of the pods, and renew the seal rather than reusing the old one. Tighten retaining nuts by hand against the shell; acrylic will craze if a fitting is overtightened.

SloanLED at PoolParthub.com

Here we list SloanLED wet-side lighting for spas and pools, including the LiquaLED Quad-LED 4-LED Spyder Spa Light 701564-4-DLO. The focus is on assemblies that are ordered by part number and fitted as direct replacements for original equipment.

If a code is worn off the old harness, send through the pod count, the aperture diameter and a photograph of the connector, and the range can be checked against what was originally installed.
