The HI97104M features an innovative optical design using an LED light source paired with narrow-band interference filters (8 nm bandwidth, ±1.0 nm wavelength accuracy) and a silicon photodiode detector, delivering exceptional measurement repeatability with no warm-up time required. Hanna’s exclusive CAL Check™ system allows users to verify instrument performance and recalibrate against NIST-traceable standards at any time, ensuring confidence in every reading. A built-in reaction countdown timer ensures consistent, operator-independent results across all five parameters.

Ease of use & data management

A backlit dot-matrix LCD with virtual keys and an on-screen, step-by-step tutorial mode makes this photometer highly intuitive — even for first-time users. Free and total chlorine can be measured simultaneously from a single sample, saving time during routine maintenance. The meter stores up to 50 readings with GLP data (parameter, reagent, date, and time) for record-keeping and trend analysis, and runs on three standard AA batteries for over 800 measurements per set.

Waterproof construction & kit contents

The fully waterproof housing protects the optical chamber and all electronics against splashes and poolside conditions. The HI97104M kit includes the photometer, two measuring cuvettes with lids, liquid reagents for 100 free chlorine tests, 100 total chlorine tests, 100 pH tests, and 10 cyanuric acid tests, batteries, a carrying case, and an instruction manual. Note: alkalinity reagents are not included — reagent HI93755-53 (chlorine elimination reagent) is required when measuring alkalinity in chlorinated water.
