Hanna Instruments pH/ORP/Temperature Pool Controller for External Dosing Pumps, In-Line Version

The BL131-10 is a wall-mounted controller from Hanna Instruments’ BL13X series. It measures and controls pH, ORP (redox) and temperature in swimming pools, hot tubs and spas with a single HI1036 digital electrode, and switches external dosing pumps. This is the in-line version: the electrode is installed directly in the pipework. It is supplied with the HI1036-1802 electrode and a mounting collar.

Measurement

pH is measured with 0.01 pH resolution and ±0.05 pH accuracy (at 25 °C), with automatic two-point calibration (pH 4.01, 7.01, 10.01) or a selectable manual one-point calibration, and automatic temperature compensation from -5.0 to 105.0 °C. ORP is measured with 1 mV resolution and ±5 mV accuracy and calibrated at one point; temperature with 0.1 °C resolution and ±1 °C accuracy.

Dosing control

Dosing for both pH and ORP is proportional, with an adjustable set point and proportional band, so the controller doses more when the value is far from target and less as it gets close. A start delay and overdose protection guard against dosing at the wrong moment or for too long. The dosing pumps themselves are external and not included.

Versions

The BL131-20 is the panel version with a measuring chamber (flow cell), which gives a laminar flow and keeps the electrode membrane clean for a more stable measurement over time. The BL132-10 and BL132-20 add remote viewing and control through the Hanna Cloud web application.
