Spare parts for salt electrolysis and dosing systems

Salt chlorinators and automatic dosing units sit at the heart of a low-maintenance pool, and they are built from a small number of parts that each have their own service life. The electrode wears, the power supply ages, and the electronics live in a damp plant room. Here you will find the replacement components for these systems — electrodes, cell assemblies, electrode holders, control boards and power transformers — so a unit that has stopped producing chlorine or lost its pH reading can be repaired rather than replaced in full.

The range is built around AstralPool equipment, including the Advance electrolysis series, the Saline Electrolysis System Plus Private range with its A-18 and A-18 Plus units, the Chlor’In Redox Pro, and the Maxi Up dosing pump used for Ph+, Ph- and Redox control.

Electrodes, cells and holders

The electrode is the consumable part of any salt system. It is in constant contact with chlorinated water and gradually loses its coating, which shows up as a drop in chlorine output even though the salt level and the display both look normal. Replacement electrodes are matched to the output rating of the unit, not simply to the brand, so the type designation on the old plate is the thing to go by.

  • Advance series electrodes: DT7 Tecno, DT21 Tecno, DT30 Tecno and DT40 Tecno, under references such as R-458, 72330, 72331 and 72332.
  • Private range electrodes: the A-18 Plus electrode, reference CLEL034, for the Saline Electrolysis System Plus.
  • Complete cell assemblies: such as the 30 g/h replacement cell for the Advance series, supplied as a unit when the housing as well as the plates needs renewing.
  • Cell tanks and holders: the bipolar cell tank (R-411) and electrode holders 4408040408 and 4408040409, which position the plates correctly inside the chamber.

When ordering, note the output in grams per hour marked on the unit — 7, 21, 30 or 40 g/h on the Advance range — and check the number of plates and the connector arrangement on the part you are taking out. An electrode from a higher-output model will not simply run at a lower rate in a smaller chamber.

Control boards and transformers

Electronic faults are the second common cause of a dead chlorinator. A display that will not light, a unit that reads salt or Redox implausibly, or one that powers up but never energises the cell, usually points to either the printed board assembly or the transformer that feeds it.

  • Advance series boards: printed board assemblies such as the PBA TC LC for 7 g/h, 21 g/h and 40 g/h units, under references including 4408040388, 4408040341 and 4408040400.
  • Power transformers: 340 VA and 440 VA units (4408040268 and 4408040269) for the Advance range, and the A-18 Plus transformer 4408041008 for the Private range.
  • Private range control boards: the control board assembly 4408041011 for the A-18 Saline Electrolysis System Plus.
  • pH and Redox electronics: the pH/Redox control circuit board for the Chlor’In Redox Pro (RR.001.620) and the control circuit board for the Maxi Up dosing pump (RR.001.650).

Identifying the right reference

Electrolysis and dosing equipment is sold under several commercial names while sharing internal parts, so the printed reference is more reliable than the name on the front panel. Open the control box or lift the cover and look for the label on the board itself or the rating plate on the transformer, then compare that figure with the references listed here.

It also helps to measure before ordering. Note the length and diameter of the cell chamber, count the plates, photograph the wiring loom and its connectors, and record the output rating and supply voltage. Where an exploded view is available for your model, the position number against each item is the quickest route to the correct part, particularly for holders, tanks and gaskets that look similar across generations of the same series.

Here we list the wearing and electronic parts for AstralPool salt chlorinators and dosing controllers: electrodes and complete cells, bipolar cell tanks, electrode holders, printed board assemblies and power transformers across the Advance, Private, Chlor’In and Maxi Up ranges.

The aim is to keep working equipment in service. A single electrode or transformer is a far smaller job than fitting a new chlorinator, and because these references are shared across several models, identifying the part correctly often reveals that a unit thought to be obsolete can still be repaired.
