Pool’Gom waterline cleaning erasers
The waterline is the one part of a swimming pool that nobody can ignore. Sun cream, body oils, pollen, airborne dust and the fine film that floats on the surface all collect at the same height and bake onto the liner, the tiles or the polyester shell in a narrow grey-brown band. Brushing rarely shifts it, and strong chemical cleaners risk marking a liner or upsetting the water balance. Here we list the Pool’Gom cleaning erasers, a small range built around one idea: a dense sponge block that lifts the tide line mechanically, using water alone.
How an eraser sponge works at the waterline
An eraser-type sponge is not a normal washing-up sponge. The foam is extremely fine and slightly abrasive, so when it is damp it behaves like a very soft sanding block. It abrades the thin layer of grease and dirt rather than dissolving it, which is why no detergent needs to go into the pool. Because the block wears away as it works, it gradually gets smaller with use — that is normal, and it is the reason refills exist.
In practice the sponge is wetted, squeezed out and rubbed along the dirty band with light pressure. Working in short sections and rinsing the block regularly keeps it cutting. Nothing should be added to the foam: soaps and solvents are unnecessary and can leave residues in the water.

- Easy Pool’Gom with ergonomic handle (7029026) — the eraser block mounted on a holder so the waterline can be cleaned without kneeling on the coping or putting a hand in the water for long periods. Useful on larger pools where the band runs for many metres.
- Easy Pool’Gom refill block 8 × 10 cm (7029027) — a replacement block for the handle version. Once the original block has worn down, the holder is kept and only the consumable part is renewed.
- Pool’Gom magic eraser sponge, box of 3 (7002209) — loose sponges for cleaning by hand, for touching up small marks, or as a stock of spares at the start of the season.
Choosing between the handle version and loose sponges
The choice is mostly about reach and comfort. A handled eraser suits long waterlines, pools with a wide coping, and anyone who would rather not lean over the edge repeatedly. Loose sponges are easier for spot work: a mark near the steps, around the skimmer mouth, behind a ladder leg or in the corners of a small pool, where a holder is simply in the way.
- Check the refill size before ordering — the refill is 8 × 10 cm and is intended for the Easy Pool’Gom holder. Measure the worn block, or the recess in the holder, if there is any doubt.
- Buy consumables in advance — the foam is designed to wear. A box of three sponges typically carries a domestic pool through a cleaning session or two more than a single block.
- Match the method to the surface — liners, reinforced membranes, tiles and polyester shells all have different finishes. Work gently, test on a discreet area first, and never scrub hard on a printed or painted surface.
- Clean before the band hardens — a weekly pass takes seconds; a line left all summer takes real effort.
Getting the best out of a block
Lower the water level slightly if the dirt sits just above the surface, so the whole band can be reached without soaking an arm. Rinse the sponge in a bucket rather than in the pool, so the lifted dirt does not go straight back into the water and on to the filter. After use, rinse the block clean, squeeze it out and let it dry away from direct sunlight; a block stored damp and compressed loses its shape.
Crumbs of foam released during cleaning are harmless but will end up in the skimmer basket, so it is worth emptying the baskets afterwards. If the band returns quickly, the cause is usually surface oils and a shortage of filtration time rather than the cleaner itself.

Here you will find the Easy Pool’Gom handled eraser, its 8 × 10 cm refill block and the box of three magic eraser sponges — the complete set of items needed to start cleaning a waterline and to keep doing it once the first block has worn down.
These are consumables, so the useful thing is being able to reorder the right refill rather than replacing the whole tool. Each item is listed with its reference number, which makes it straightforward to order the same block again next season.
