Mega pool parts and accessories

Here you will find the Mega items carried at PoolParthub.com: a wireless handset for the Mega pool light control unit and a brass flow meter with an integrated stopcock and a CD40 quick coupler. The two sit at opposite ends of a pool installation — one on the lighting circuit, one on the water line — but both are the kind of component that is replaced on its own rather than as part of a complete rebuild.

Because the selection is small and specific, identification matters more than browsing. Work from the reference number on the part you already have, or from the fitting dimensions, and the choice is straightforward.

Lighting control and the 18-key wireless remote

Colour-changing pool lighting is normally built around a control unit fitted in the plant room or a dry enclosure, with the handset doing nothing more than sending commands to it. That means the handset is the part most likely to go missing, get wet or run out of battery long before anything else in the circuit fails, and ordering a replacement handset is far simpler than touching the wiring.

The 18-key wireless remote listed here carries reference 7032009 and is intended for use with the Mega pool light control unit. On control units of this type the keypad is generally laid out around a small group of functions:

  • On and off — switching the lighting circuit through the control unit rather than at the mains.
  • Fixed colours — individual keys that call up a single static colour.
  • Programmes — stored sequences that fade or step between colours.
  • Speed and brightness — keys that adjust how fast a sequence runs and how bright the output is.

Before ordering, confirm that the control unit in your installation is the one this handset is made for. The reference number printed on the original handset, or on the label of the control unit itself, is the most reliable way to check. Keep the handset away from standing water and out of direct sun at the poolside, as heat and moisture shorten the life of both the keypad membrane and the battery contacts.

Flow measurement and the CD40 connection

The brass flow meter listed here combines three things in one body: a flow indicator, a stopcock to isolate or throttle the line, and a CD40 quick coupler on the outlet. It has a 1″ male thread on the inlet side and is rated to 10 bar.

A flow meter of this kind lets you read the rate of water passing through a line instead of guessing from the sound of the pump or the look of the return jets. Combined with the stopcock, it also lets you shut the line off or trim the flow at the same point, which saves fitting a separate valve. The CD40 coupler is a push-and-twist connection that mates with matching CD40 halves, so a hose can be taken off and put back without tools and without disturbing the threaded joint behind it.

When fitting it, check the following:

  • Thread — 1″ male on the inlet, so the pipework or adaptor it screws into must be a matching 1″ female.
  • Coupler type — CD40 on the outlet; a hose fitted with a different quick-coupler system will not engage.
  • Pressure — the 10 bar rating is the limit for the fitting, so keep the line it serves well below that.
  • Stroomrichting — install it the way round the body indicates, or the reading will not be meaningful.

Use PTFE tape or a suitable thread sealant on the male thread, and tighten by hand plus a controlled turn with a spanner. Brass bodies are strong but the threads will strip if over-tightened against a plastic fitting.

Mega at PoolParthub.com

Here we list the Mega parts that owners and installers actually come back for: the 18-key wireless handset for the Mega pool light control unit under reference 7032009, and the brass flow meter with stopcock and CD40 quick coupler. Both are stocked because they are replaced individually — a lost handset or a seized meter should not mean replacing a working lighting system or re-plumbing a line.

If you are unsure whether the handset matches your control unit, or whether the 1″ thread and CD40 coupler suit your pipework, measure what you have and compare it with the details on the product page before ordering. That single check avoids almost every return on parts of this kind.
