The Hanna Instruments HI98304 DiST®4 is a rugged, pocket-sized electrical conductivity (EC) tester covering a high range of 0.00 to 20.00 mS/cm with automatic temperature compensation (ATC). Designed for professionals and enthusiasts alike, it delivers fast, accurate results in the lab or the field — from pool and water treatment to boilers, cooling towers, and agriculture.

Key features

The HI98304 keeps operation refreshingly simple with just two buttons: one for ON/OFF and one for calibration. Its large multi-level LCD simultaneously displays EC and temperature readings, along with a stability indicator, calibration tag, and battery level. The exposed temperature sensor ensures extremely fast ATC response across 0–50 °C, while the amperometric graphite electrode resists oxidation and reduces polarisation effects for reliable, repeatable measurements. An automatic shut-off (configurable at 8 minutes, 60 minutes, or disabled) and a low-battery indicator help extend battery life.

Calibration

One-point automatic calibration is performed at 12.88 mS/cm with a single press of the dedicated calibration button. The HI98304 is supplied complete with a 12.88 mS/cm calibration solution sachet, a CR2032 battery, instructions, and a quality certificate — everything needed to get started straight out of the box.

Ideal applications

With its IP-rated waterproof body, slim 17 mm profile, and 68 g weight, the DiST®4 is equally at home poolside, in a greenhouse, or on a production line.
