The BL132-20 is a controller from Hanna Instruments’ BL13X series. It measures and controls pH, ORP (redox) and temperature in swimming pools, hot tubs and spas with a single HI1036 digital electrode, and switches external dosing pumps. Through the Hanna Cloud web application, readings can be viewed and the controller managed remotely. This is the panel version with a measuring chamber (flow cell): it gives a laminar flow past the electrode and keeps the electrode membrane clean, for a more stable measurement over time. It is supplied on a panel with the HI1036-1802 electrode and a mounting collar.

Measurement

pH is measured with 0.01 pH resolution and ±0.05 pH accuracy (at 25 °C), with automatic two-point calibration (pH 4.01, 7.01, 10.01) or a selectable manual one-point calibration, and automatic temperature compensation from -5.0 to 105.0 °C. ORP is measured with 1 mV resolution and ±5 mV accuracy and calibrated at one point; temperature with 0.1 °C resolution and ±1 °C accuracy.

Dosing control

Dosing for both pH and ORP is proportional, with an adjustable set point and proportional band, so the controller doses more when the value is far from target and less as it gets close. A start delay and overdose protection guard against dosing at the wrong moment or for too long. The dosing pumps themselves are external and not included.

Versions

The BL132-10 is the in-line Hanna Cloud version, with the electrode fitted directly in the pipe. The BL131-20 is this panel version without Hanna Cloud.
