The HI83326-02 is a compact, professional-grade benchtop photometer designed specifically for swimming pool and spa water analysis. It measures 11 key water quality parameters across 12 pre-programmed methods, and doubles as a full laboratory-grade pH meter via its digital pH electrode input — all from a single, space-saving instrument running on 230V mains power.

Parameters & measurement modes

The HI83326-02 covers the key parameters for pool water management, including free and total chlorine, bromine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness and cyanuric acid, plus direct absorbance measurement. Its five optical channels use LED light sources with narrow-band interference filters (8 nm bandwidth, ±1.0 nm wavelength accuracy). The instrument also measures all parameters required to calculate the Langelier Saturation Index, helping operators predict water balance and prevent corrosion or scale. When a compatible Hanna digital pH electrode (sold separately) is connected, the meter switches to a full pH/mV mode with automatic temperature compensation from -5.0 to 100.0 °C.

Advanced optics & CAL check™ verification

At the heart of the HI83326-02 is an innovative optical design incorporating a beam splitter, reference detector, and focusing lens. The reference detector continuously compensates for any drift caused by power fluctuations or ambient temperature changes, ensuring stable readings between blank and sample measurements. Absorbance accuracy is ±0.003 Abs at 1.000 Abs, and the system supports up to 128 methods.

Data logging & connectivity

The HI83326-02 features a 128 × 64 pixel backlit LCD and can store up to 1,000 readings, each tagged with a user name and sample ID for full traceability. Data can be transferred to a computer or USB flash drive via the dual USB ports (USB-A host and micro-USB-B). Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) functionality logs pH calibration data — including date, time, buffers used, electrode offset, and slope — directly from the connected digital electrode. The 02 variant is supplied with 4 glass cuvettes with caps, a cuvette cleaning cloth, a USB to micro-USB cable, a 230V power adapter, and an instruction manual. Reagents are not included.
