Rated at 4 kW (5.5 HP) and capable of delivering up to 13.5 m³/h at a maximum working pressure of 11 bar, the Foras KB 550 T is the top-of-range twin-impeller model in the KB series — built for pressurisation circuits and water-transfer duties that demand sustained high head alongside generous flow. Its 1½” female suction port and 1¼” female discharge port connect directly into threaded pipework, and the three-phase 230/400 V motor (9.1 A) suits both new installations and like-for-like replacements in commercial or agricultural plant rooms.

The KB series distinguishes itself from single-impeller centrifugal pumps through its two counter-opposed impellers, which combine to deliver high head without sacrificing delivery volume — making the KB 550 T well suited to pressurisation systems in civil and industrial plant, pool heating circuits, irrigation headers, and water-transfer applications where suction lift is up to 6–7 metres. The Noryl impeller material resists corrosion and offers good dimensional stability across a wide temperature range, up to 90 °C.

Protezione del motore e dell'impianto elettrico

The cast-iron motor bracket and pump casing are matched to a sealed, externally ventilated three-phase motor carrying IP44 ingress protection and Class F winding insulation — appropriate for damp plant-room environments. The motor incorporates built-in thermal overload protection that automatically disconnects the winding if operating temperature is exceeded, guarding against dry-run or blocked-pipe damage. A Type C mechanical seal provides a reliable dynamic seal between the wet end and the motor bearing housing.

Montaggio e installazione

With overall dimensions of 463 mm (L) × 266 mm (W) × 305 mm (H), the KB 550 T is designed for indoor or weatherproof-enclosure mounting on a rigid plinth or common base frame. Female-threaded suction and discharge ports simplify connection to standard BSP-threaded pipework or manifolds. As this pump is not self-priming, it must be installed with the wet end fully primed before start-up; supply cabling is not included and connection should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
