This is the genuine Kripsol drain screw (drainage assembly, ref. RPUM00007.00R, formerly RBH0000.00R) fitted to the pump body of Kripsol and Hayward-branded pool pumps. It provides the primary drain point at the base of the pump housing, allowing you to fully empty the volute for winterisation, maintenance, or motor removal without dismantling pipework.

Switch off and isolate the pump at the isolator before touching any fittings. Position a small bowl under the drain port, unscrew the old plug by hand, allow the volute to drain fully, then thread the new drain screw in finger-tight. Do not use a wrench — over-tightening cracks the thermoplastic boss. Confirm the port is dry and shows no weep before restarting the pump.
