Hayward – Crystal Redox & pH Control Kit

The Hayward Crystal Redox & pH Control Kit enables simultaneous, continuous monitoring of both redox (ORP) and pH levels in the pool water, providing the two most critical measurements for automated water treatment in a single kit. When connected to a compatible Hayward dosing controller, it allows automatic correction of both parameters without any manual testing or intervention.

Controlling pH and redox together ensures that chlorine remains active and effective — high pH dramatically reduces the germicidal efficiency of free chlorine, so keeping both in range simultaneously is essential for safe, clear pool water.

Installation & Calibration

Both probes are installed in line on the pool return pipe, in their respective flow cells where they are exposed to a continuous representative sample of pool water. Calibrate the pH probe with pH 4 and pH 7 buffer solutions, and the redox probe with a 465 mV reference solution. Recalibrate every 4–8 weeks.
