Davey - Motor Rotor for StarFlo DSF420 / DSF420CE Pool Pump - 403146

Davey – Motor Rotor for StarFlo DSF420 / DSF420CE Pool Pump

This is the genuine Davey replacement motor rotor (part 403146) for the StarFlo DSF420 and DSF420CE single-phase pool pump. The rotor is the rotating core of the electric motor — it converts electrical energy into the mechanical shaft rotation that drives the pump’s impeller and circulates pool water. It is typically replaced when the motor develops reduced output, excessive noise, overheating, or fails to start due to worn or seized internal motor components.

Compatibility

This rotor is specified exclusively for the Davey StarFlo DSF420 and DSF420CE (2.2 hp / 1650 W single-phase) models. The DSF420CE is the CE-certified variant sold in Europe. It is not interchangeable with the DSF300 rotor (403145) or any other StarFlo motor assembly. Always verify your pump’s model label before ordering.

Why Genuine Matters

As an OEM Davey part, this rotor is wound and balanced to the precise tolerances of the DSF420 stator and motor shell, ensuring correct electromagnetic clearance, thermal performance, and long service life. Aftermarket alternatives may not match these tolerances and can accelerate wear on the stator, bearings, and shaft seal.

Installation

Motor rotor replacement requires full motor disassembly, including removal of the fan, fan cowl, back cover, and bearings. Davey recommends that repair and reassembly be carried out by the manufacturer’s authorised service personnel or a qualified technician. Correct torque and alignment are essential to avoid premature bearing failure or vibration.
