Rated at 16 bar for water and 10 bar for gas, this large-bore 200 mm PE100 electrofusion socket from Profec is built for demanding pressure-pipe installations where a chemically and mechanically sound joint is non-negotiable. Fusion process & joint integrity

At 200 mm diameter, achieving a leak-free joint with traditional mechanical fittings is challenging; electrofusion resolves this by directing heat precisely to the pipe–socket interface through embedded resistance wire coils. The result is a monolithic PE100-to-PE100 bond that matches the structural integrity of the pipe itself. The fitting accepts a standard 4 mm electrofusion controller connector, and the welding indicator confirms correct fusion has been reached before the assembly is released for cooling.
