This is the OEM plastic fan cover (shroud) that fits over the external cooling fan on the rear of the Poolstar Freeflo filtration pump motor. It channels airflow across the motor casing on the TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) motor, keeping the motor at a safe operating temperature during continuous filtration cycles. What this fan cover does in the Freeflo filtration pump

The Freeflo uses a TEFC motor design in which an external fan — not internal airflow — cools the motor body.
