The HI4430B-3 is an ORP (redox) electrode with a PEI body and a gold sensing pin, designed for water containing ozone and other strong oxidants. It terminates in a standard BNC connector on a 3 metre cable, so it can be wired directly to Hanna Instruments controllers, dosing systems and portable ORP meters used in commercial pool water treatment.

Para qué sirve

The BNC termination makes this electrode compatible with Hanna Instruments ORP controllers, dosing panels and handheld redox meters that accept a standard BNC input. The 3 metre cable allows the sensor to be mounted in the circulation line at some distance from the panel. Always confirm your controller expects a millivolt ORP signal rather than a preamplified or digital sensor input before ordering.

Gold pin advantage

The gold sensing pin is preferred over platinum in water dosed with ozone or other aggressive oxidants, where it gives a more stable and reproducible redox reading. The PEI body offers good chemical resistance in oxidising pool water. This makes the electrode a practical choice for ozone-assisted disinfection systems and high-oxidant applications.

Posición de instalación

Fit the electrode in an in-line flow cell or holder on the measuring loop, downstream of the filter and upstream of the injection point so the sensor sees representative water. Keep the sensing pin permanently wetted and vent any air pockets from the flow cell. Route the cable away from pump motors and power cabling to limit electrical interference on the millivolt signal.

Vida útil

ORP electrodes are consumables: response slows and readings drift as the reference junction fouls and the gold pin becomes coated. Check the electrode against an ORP test solution regularly and clean the pin when readings become sluggish. Under continuous commercial pool duty, expect to replace the electrode roughly every 12 to 24 months depending on water chemistry and oxidant load.

This item is supplied as a single electrode with an integrated 3 metre BNC cable; flow cells, holders, mounting hardware and ORP test solutions are ordered separately. Cable length is fixed and should not be extended with generic coax, as this can degrade the high-impedance signal. Order the matching cable length for your installation instead of splicing.
