Pentair UltraFlow Plus impeller 2.20 kW

This is the genuine OEM impeller for the 2.20 kW (3 HP) variant of the Pentair UltraFlow Plus pool pump. Moulded from Noryl — a glass-fibre-reinforced engineering resin — it is the rotating hydraulic component that draws water through the pre-filter housing and pushes it under pressure towards the filter and return circuit. Without a correctly functioning impeller the pump loses flow, cavitates, or stops circulating entirely.

The impeller sits between the seal plate and the diffuser on the pump’s wet end. As the motor shaft spins it, centrifugal force accelerates water outward through the impeller vanes and into the diffuser, converting velocity into the pressure head that drives your filtration circuit. The 2.20 kW impeller is matched in diameter and vane geometry to the 1.50–2.20 kW diffuser (R39015500); fitting a smaller-rated impeller from a lower-power variant will cause a significant drop in flow and is not interchangeable.

Confirm the power rating on your motor nameplate before ordering — this impeller does not fit the 0.55 kW, 0.75 kW, 1.10 kW, or 1.50 kW variants, each of which uses its own part number.

A worn or cracked impeller produces a measurable drop in flow rate even when the motor runs at normal speed. You may also notice louder-than-usual operation, vibration through the pump body, or visible debris damage to the vanes when you open the wet end. Calcium scale build-up inside the vane passages is another common cause of performance loss and is confirmed once you remove the diffuser and inspect the impeller directly.

Release the stainless-steel clamp band that joins the motor to the pump body, pull the motor assembly clear, and remove the seal plate. The impeller unscrews counter-clockwise from the motor shaft — hold the shaft with a flat screwdriver in the slot at the rear of the motor to stop it turning. Thread the new impeller on clockwise until snug, refit the seal plate and mechanical seal, and reassemble in reverse order. Torque the impeller lock screw (R39009900, sold separately) before refitting the diffuser.
