HI70774L is a ready-to-use cleaning solution formulated to remove oil, fat and grease films from pH electrodes, ORP electrodes and other measuring probes. It belongs to the Hanna Instruments Pool Line range of electrode maintenance fluids used alongside pool controllers and dosing systems. The 500 ml bottle covers routine cleaning cycles for a commercial pool installation.

What it fits

The solution is intended for glass-bodied pH and ORP electrodes as well as combination probes used in pool water treatment panels and dosing controllers. It targets the specific fouling found in pools and spas, where sunscreen, body oils and lotions coat the sensing bulb and reference junction. Always confirm with the probe datasheet that the sensor body and cap materials tolerate a solvent-based cleaner.

How to use

Remove the electrode from the holder or flow cell, rinse off loose debris with clean water, then immerse the sensing tip in the cleaning solution for the interval recommended by the probe manual, typically several minutes. Rinse thoroughly with deionised or clean water afterwards, then recondition the electrode in storage solution before recalibrating. Never pour used solution back into the bottle.

Service life

Once the bottle is opened, keep it tightly capped and stored cool and dark to avoid evaporation and contamination. Discard the working portion after each cleaning session rather than reusing it. Replace the bottle when the fluid appears discoloured or turbid, or by the expiry date printed on the label.

Supplied as a single 500 ml bottle; calibration buffers, storage solution and general-purpose cleaners are ordered separately. Choose this variant only when the fouling is oil or grease based, as a general cleaning solution is more suitable for inorganic deposits. Check the exact bottle size code before ordering, since the same solution is also offered in smaller sachets and bottles.
