The BL120-450 is a complete flow cell kit designed for installing pH, ORP or free chlorine probes in a 50 mm diameter pipe run. It belongs to the Hanna Instruments accessory range for BL1xx series and HI5x0 series pool and process controllers, providing a controlled sample stream across the sensor tips. The kit is intended for permanent installation in commercial pool water treatment loops.

Compatibility

Designed for use with Hanna Instruments BL1xx series controllers and HI5x0 series controllers used in swimming pool and water treatment applications. The cell body is dimensioned for 50 mm outside diameter pipework typical of commercial circulation lines. Probe ports accept the standard Hanna pool electrodes supplied with these controller families.

Installation position

The flow cell is fitted into the sample line taken from the main circulation pipe, downstream of the filter and ahead of the injection points. Sample water enters the cell, passes over the installed electrode tips, and returns to the pipe or drain. Mount the assembly vertically where possible so the sensor tips stay fully wetted and air pockets are flushed away.

Service life

The flow cell body and fittings are long-life components and normally only need replacement if cracked, chemically attacked or damaged during probe changes. Seals and O-rings are the usual wear points and should be checked at each probe replacement interval. Keep the cell free of scale and biofilm to avoid slow or drifting sensor readings.

Ordering notes

Supplied as a kit for a single 50 mm pipe installation. Probes, electrodes and controller are not included and must be ordered separately to suit your system. Confirm the outside diameter of your existing pipework before ordering, as other pipe sizes require a different flow cell version.
