This is the genuine Davey blanking plug (cell housing cap) for the ProMatic ESR, ESC, and MPS series salt water chlorinators. It seals the open end of the cell housing when the electrolytic cell has been removed — for example during winter shutdown, off-season storage, or cell replacement servicing. Note: no gasket or O-ring is included with this part.

This blanking plug is a direct OEM replacement listed by Davey for all ESC, ESCpH, and ESR ProMatic models, including the ESC 16, ESC 24, ESC 36, ESC 48, MPS 16, MPS 40, and associated pH variants distributed across Europe under the Davey (formerly Monarch) brand. Why genuine matters
Using an authentic Davey part ensures a precise fit within the cell housing, preventing leaks and keeping the housing protected during servicing or storage. The companion O-ring (Davey part M1217) is sold separately and should be replaced at the same time to guarantee a watertight seal — do not reuse a worn O-ring with a new plug.
Installation
Isolate power to the chlorinator and pump before removing the electrolytic cell. Once the cell is withdrawn from the housing, fit the blanking plug in its place to close off the housing. Installation should be carried out by a qualified pool technician in accordance with Davey’s installation and operating instructions and applicable local electrical standards.
