Sta-Rite – Pump Drain Plug with Gasket, Set of 2 (RU178920P)

This is the genuine Sta-Rite replacement drain plug kit (reference RU178920P), supplied as a set of two plugs complete with integrated gaskets. Drain plugs seal the drain ports on the pump body and are essential for winterisation, servicing, and preventing water loss during pump maintenance. Each plug provides a secure, leak-free closure at the pump’s drain point.

Kompatybilność

This kit is the correct OEM part for a wide range of Sta-Rite pool pump models, including the IntelliFlo, 5P6R, SW5P6R, 5P2R, S5P2R, and 5MPR series. The 5P2R and S5P2R pumps feature multiple drain locations on the pump body, making it practical to keep a spare set of plugs on hand. Always verify your pump model and part reference before ordering.

Dlaczego oryginalność ma znaczenie

Genuine Sta-Rite drain plugs are precision-matched to the thread pitch and seat geometry of the pump body, ensuring a reliable seal without risk of cross-threading or leakage. Non-OEM substitutes may differ in thread form or gasket compound, leading to seepage or premature failure — particularly in salt-water or chemically aggressive pool environments where the S5P2R series is commonly deployed.

Instalacja

Hand-tighten the plug into the drain port until the gasket seats, then snug firmly — avoid over-tightening, which can damage the thermoplastic pump body. When reinstalling after winterisation or servicing, inspect the gasket for deformation and replace the plug set if the seal looks compressed or cracked. Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with pump servicing.
