Kripsol K-FLO pump impeller / turbine – 1.00 HP

This is the genuine OEM impeller (turbine) for the 1.00 HP variant of the Kripsol K-FLO pool filtration pump. The impeller is the rotating hydraulic core of the pump: it accelerates water from the inlet, builds pressure, and drives flow through the filtration circuit at the rated 1.00 HP duty point. Without a serviceable impeller, the pump loses prime, drops flow and ultimately fails to turn over the pool volume.

What this impeller does in the K-FLO

The impeller converts motor shaft rotation into hydraulic pressure, drawing water from the pool through the pre-filter basket and pushing it at pressure through the filter and back to the returns. The K-FLO uses a closed-vane Noryl impeller moulded with a stainless-steel core insert, a pairing that gives the component its chemical and mechanical resilience in both chlorinated and salt-water pools. A worn or cracked impeller erodes flow rate before it causes an obvious breakdown, so output loss is often the first symptom you will see.

Signs it needs replacing

Watch for a sustained drop in filter pressure (gauge reading below normal operating range), reduced return-jet velocity, the pump struggling to prime after seasonal start-up, or a grinding/rattling noise from the volute chamber — all point to an impeller that is either worn at the vane tips, cracked, or has a loose stainless-steel core insert. Cavitation damage typically shows as pitting across the vane faces.

How to install it

Shut off the pump, isolate the circuit valves, and drain the pump casing. Remove the pre-filter lid and basket, unbolt the pump body from the motor, and unscrew the impeller from the motor shaft (left-hand thread on most Koral-platform units — rotate clockwise to loosen when facing the shaft end). Seat the new impeller hand-tight, then snug it a quarter-turn further; overtightening risks cracking the Noryl hub. Reassemble in reverse, re-prime, and check for pressure recovery before returning the system to service.

The Noryl impeller vane geometry, core insert diameter, and shaft-thread pitch are tolerance-matched to the K-FLO diffuser housing.
