This genuine Hydro-Pro compressor crankcase heating belt is an electrical resistance element that wraps around the base of the compressor in your Hydro-Pro Type Z Inverter heat pump. It keeps the compressor above the refrigerant saturation temperature during off-cycles, preventing refrigerant migration into the compressor oil and protecting internal components from the effects of cold starting. Why your heat pump needs it
