This genuine Hydro-Pro compressor crankcase heating belt is an electrical resistance element that wraps around the base of the compressor in your Hydro-Pro Type Z Inverter heat pump. It keeps the compressor above the refrigerant saturation temperature during off-cycles, preventing refrigerant migration into the compressor oil and protecting internal components from the effects of cold starting. Rated at 35W and 230V, it connects via a standard plug and measures 430mm in length (8×4 profile).

Why your heat pump needs it

When a pool heat pump is switched off in cold conditions, refrigerant can migrate into the compressor crankcase and dilute the lubricating oil. This leads to oil dilution, reduced lubrication, and significant mechanical stress on bearings and moving parts at the next start-up — a phenomenon known as liquid slugging.
