Davey - ProMatic MPS / ESR / ESC gasdetector O-ring - M1203

Davey – ProMatic MPS / ESR / ESC Gas Detector O-Ring (M1203)

This is the genuine Davey replacement O-ring (part number M1203) for the gas detector assembly fitted to the ProMatic MPS, ESR, and ESC series salt-water chlorinators. The O-ring provides the pressure-tight seal around the gas detector unit housed within the electrolytic cell, ensuring the safety circuit functions correctly and no water ingress compromises the sensor.

The ProMatic’s gas detector is a critical safety component: it monitors the cell housing for hydrogen gas build-up — a natural by-product of the electrolysis process — and halts chlorine production automatically if gas or a no-flow condition is detected. A degraded or damaged O-ring on this detector can cause false triggering, water leaks at the sensor port, or loss of the airtight seal needed for accurate gas detection.

Compatibiliteit

This O-ring is designed for use with the Davey ProMatic salt-water chlorinator range, specifically the MPS series (including MPS24, MPS36, MPS40/50), the ESR series, and the ESC series (ESC16, ESC24, ESC36, ESC48). Always cross-reference your ProMatic model and existing part number M1203 before ordering to confirm fitment.

Wanneer vervangen?

This O-ring should be inspected whenever the cell is removed for cleaning or cell replacement, and replaced if it appears cracked, flattened, or shows signs of chemical degradation. A faulty seal here can trigger nuisance flow/gas alarms, allow moisture into the detector housing, or prevent the safety cut-out from operating as intended — making timely replacement important for both system reliability and pool safety.

Waarom authenticiteit belangrijk is

Using the genuine Davey part ensures the correct compound, cross-section, and dimensional tolerance for the sensor port on ProMatic cell assemblies. Aftermarket O-rings may not withstand the saline, chemically active pool environment and could swell or shrink, compromising the seal and the safety function of the gas detector.
