Why Calcium Hardness Testing Matters

Calcium hardness is a core component of water balance alongside pH and total alkalinity. The industry-standard target range for pools is 200–400 ppm, with adjustments depending on pool surface type. Come si usa

Collect a pool water sample from elbow depth to avoid surface contamination. Following the PoolLab 2.0 on-screen instructions, add the specified number of drops from each reagent bottle to the cuvette, then insert it into the photometer for an instant digital readout in ppm. Record and compare results against the recommended range for your pool type, and adjust your water chemistry accordingly. Test at least once a month — and after any significant water top-up or heavy bather load.
