Water-ID – PoolLab 2.0 Liquid Reagent Kit – Calcium Hardness (50 Tests)

This genuine Water-ID liquid reagent kit lets you measure calcium hardness (CH) in pool and spa water directly with your PoolLab 2.0 photometer. The kit contains two dropper bottles of liquid reagents — Calcium Hardness 1 and Calcium Hardness 2 — yielding up to 50 photometer-grade tests across a range of 0–500 ppm. Produced in Germany by Water-i.d. GmbH, these reagents are formulated to the exact specifications of the PoolLab 2.0, ensuring reliable, repeatable results every time.

Why Calcium Hardness Testing Matters

Calcium hardness is a core component of water balance alongside pH and total alkalinity. The industry-standard target range for pools is 200–400 ppm, with adjustments depending on pool surface type. Water that is too soft (low CH) becomes chemically aggressive, etching plaster, pitting concrete, and attacking equipment. Conversely, excess calcium causes unsightly scale deposits, cloudy water, and can clog filters, heaters, and salt cells over time. Regular photometer testing gives you precise readings — far more accurate than test strips, which can only measure total hardness rather than calcium hardness specifically.

Compatibilidad

This reagent kit is designed exclusively for use with the Water-ID PoolLab 2.0 photometer. It is not interchangeable with other brands or testing systems. Always use genuine Water-ID reagents to ensure the photometer’s calibration and accuracy are maintained. Replacement kits should be sourced before your current supply runs out to avoid testing gaps during the pool season.

Cómo utilizarlo

Collect a pool water sample from elbow depth to avoid surface contamination. Following the PoolLab 2.0 on-screen instructions, add the specified number of drops from each reagent bottle to the cuvette, then insert it into the photometer for an instant digital readout in ppm. Record and compare results against the recommended range for your pool type, and adjust your water chemistry accordingly. Test at least once a month — and after any significant water top-up or heavy bather load.
