The Water-ID Plastic Stirring Rod (POLsp-str) is a genuine OEM replacement accessory for the PoolLab 1.0 and PoolLab 2.0 photometers. Made from chemically inert plastic, it is designed to crush and dissolve reagent tablets — and evenly distribute liquid reagents — inside the photometer cuvette before each measurement. Without thorough dissolution, readings can be skewed; this small tool is an essential part of every reliable water test.

Compatibilità

This white 10.5 cm stirring rod is the universal Water-ID spare, listed by item code POLsp-str in the official PoolLab 1.0 and PoolLab 2.0 manuals. It is also compatible with other Water-ID PrimeLab-line devices that use the same standard photometer cuvettes. The PoolLab 2.0 kit ships with three colour-coded rods (white, blue, red) to prevent cross-contamination during parallel measurements; this white rod is the direct replacement for the white one.

Chemically inert plastic is critical — any metal or reactive material touching the sample would contaminate it and corrupt photometric results. Genuine Water-ID rods are manufactured to the same specification as those included in the original kit by Water-i.d. GmbH, Germany. Rods can become brittle, discoloured, or simply lost after hundreds of tests, so keeping a spare on hand means you never have to postpone a water quality check.

Utilizzo

After adding the reagent tablet to the filled cuvette, use the rod to crush the tablet vigorously and stir until fully dissolved with no visible residue before closing the light shield and starting the measurement cycle. After each use, rinse the rod thoroughly with clean water — and periodically with distilled water — to prevent reagent carry-over between tests.
