Rated to a full 10 bar at DN200 (200/225 mm), this Hydro-S Type 7500 is one of the largest lever-operated PVC-U butterfly valves in the range — suited to high-volume water management on commercial pool plant rooms, water treatment pipelines, and large-bore recirculation systems. The all-PVC-U wetted body and EPDM seal resist the chlorinated and chemically treated water typically found in pool and spa installations, while the glass-fibre-reinforced PP housing adds structural rigidity at this demanding bore size.

Valve body & seal materials

The flow-carrying components — body disc and valve seat — are manufactured in PVC-U, making the valve naturally resistant to corrosion and aggressive pool chemicals without the need for protective coatings. The EPDM elastomer seal provides a reliable shut-off across the full operating temperature range of 0 °C to 40 °C, maintaining compression integrity under thermal cycling. The steel spindle transfers lever torque efficiently to the disc at this large diameter, where operating effort is naturally higher than on smaller DN sizes.

Flange connection & dimensions

Connection is via standard PN10 flanges, drilled to EN 1092-1 pattern with a 295 mm pitch circle diameter (PCD) and an overall face-to-face envelope radius of 335 mm — allowing direct replacement of existing DN200 PN10 flanged valves without pipe modification. The compact face-to-face depth of 75 mm (W-1) keeps installation length short relative to the 200 mm bore, easing integration into congested plant-room pipework. Counter-flanges, bolts, and gaskets are sold separately and should be selected to the PN10 drilling standard.

Quarter-turn lever operation

A blue lever provides simple quarter-turn open/close operation, giving clear visual indication of valve position — an important practical benefit in busy plant rooms where multiple valves are present. The lever action is well-suited to periodic isolation duties such as backwash sequencing, bypass switching, or maintenance isolation, where fast manual operation is preferred over a gearbox. For applications requiring finer flow modulation or actuator drive, the Type 7500 platform is available with alternative operators across the Hydro-S range.
