Hanna Instruments Pool Line ORP/Temperature electrode with Quick-DIN connector for BL101 (HI20083)

The HI20083 is a combined ORP and temperature electrode from the Hanna Instruments Pool Line range, built for continuous redox monitoring in commercial pool water treatment. It uses a Quick-DIN connector for tool-free connection to the BL101 controller and includes an integrated temperature sensor for compensated readings. The probe is designed for permanent in-line or in-tank installation on the circulation loop.

Designed as the replacement ORP/temperature electrode for the Hanna Instruments BL101 Pool Line controller. The Quick-DIN connector matches the controller socket directly, so no rewiring or terminal work is needed. It is not interchangeable with pH electrodes or with probes using BNC or screw-type terminations.

The electrode is normally mounted in a flow cell or probe holder on the circulation line, downstream of the filter and upstream of the dosing injection point. Keep the sensing tip permanently wetted and mount the body within the manufacturer’s allowed angle so the internal electrolyte stays in contact with the junction. Route the cable away from pump motors and dosing lines to limit electrical interference on the measuring signal.

ORP electrodes are consumable items and gradually lose response speed as the platinum sensing surface fouls and the reference junction clogs. Typical service life in continuously dosed pool water is roughly one to two seasons, depending on water chemistry, temperature and cleaning routine. Replace the electrode when readings drift, respond sluggishly to chemical changes or can no longer be brought into range against a fresh ORP test solution.

Supplied as a single electrode with cable and Quick-DIN connector; ORP test solutions, cleaning solution and flow cells are ordered separately. Confirm your controller model is the BL101 before ordering, as other Pool Line panels use different probe references. Order a spare ahead of the season so dosing control is not interrupted by a failed sensor.
