The DiST4 is a waterproof pocket-sized conductivity (EC) tester from the Hanna Instruments Pool Line range, measuring up to 19.99 mS/cm with automatic temperature compensation. It is used to check the total dissolved salts and mineral load of pool and spa water, which is a key parameter for salt chlorinators, corrosion control and water balance. The instrument is a self-contained handheld unit with an integrated conductivity probe and digital LCD readout.

El que mesura

The tester covers a conductivity range of 0.00 to 19.99 mS/cm, which suits pool water, spa water, salt-chlorinated pools and make-up water sources. Automatic temperature compensation corrects readings so results taken at different water temperatures remain comparable. It is a stand-alone tester and does not connect to a controller or dosing panel.

Com utilitzar

Remove the protective cap, immerse the lower part of the tester into the water sample up to the marked immersion level and wait for the reading to stabilise on the LCD. Rinse the electrode with clean water after each measurement and replace the cap for storage. The housing is waterproof, so the unit will float rather than be destroyed if it is dropped into the pool.

Calibratge i vida útil

Calibrate the tester regularly against a known conductivity standard solution to keep readings accurate; frequency depends on use and water quality. The conductivity electrode gradually loses response over time due to scaling and fouling, so clean it periodically and recalibrate. When readings drift or no longer stabilise after cleaning and calibration, the tester should be replaced.

Confirm that the 19.99 mS/cm range covers your application before ordering, as higher-salinity water may require a wider-range meter.
