Salt 25 kg type Poolsel® – Pool electrolysis salt

Each 25 kg bag of Poolsel® delivers a high-purity refined sea salt with a NaCl content of ≥ 99.8 %, fine 1–2 mm crystals, and a low sulphate content — precisely formulated to feed salt chlorinators and maintain stable chlorine production. The characteristic grain size dissolves quickly and evenly in pool water, making dosing straightforward for both pool owners and installers. One bag covers the initial charge or top-up of a typical residential pool when used alongside a compatible salt electrolysis unit.

Purity & composition

Poolsel® is produced from 100 % natural refined sea salt, completely free of additives and anti-caking agents that could contaminate electrolytic cells or cause scaling on electrodes. It complies with the EN 16401 standard for swimming pool salt and the EU Biocides Regulation, meaning it meets the quality thresholds required for registered electrochlorination products. The low sulphate content protects both the salt cell and pool surfaces over the long term.

Dosing & compatibility

For an initial fill or after a full drain-and-refill, a general guideline is 4–6 kg per m³ of pool water; always defer to your salt chlorinator manufacturer’s instructions for the exact target salinity. Poolsel® is suitable for standard salt electrolysis (electrochlorination) systems in domestic and semi-professional pools. It is not suitable for membrane electrolysis installations — consult your equipment documentation before use.

Swimmer comfort

At the correct salinity, pool water treated via Poolsel® feels noticeably softer and gentler on skin and eyes compared with conventionally dosed chlorine pools. Electrochlorination releases chlorine at a lower instantaneous concentration, reducing the likelihood of skin irritation or stinging eyes, while the higher salt buffer capacity also helps stabilise pH over time.
